Livigno Makes History: First Alpine Skiing World Cup Stage

Just over a month before the start of the Olympic Games, Livigno is ready to write an unforgettable chapter in its sporting history.

For the first time ever, Livigno will host an Alpine Skiing World Cup stage: the highly anticipated Men’s Super G, scheduled for December 27, 2025.

A Historic Event

Leading up to the lighting of the Olympic cauldron, Livigno enters history by hosting a world-class competition. This unique and spectacular event will bring the world’s best athletes to the heart of the Alps, ready to challenge themselves on a new and demanding course.

The Course: Technique and Adrenaline

The course has been designed to be a crucial test before the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. It will be a high-level technical challenge, alternating flowing sections with demanding steep slopes.

  • Start: 2375 meters, near Rifugio Costaccia.

  • Track: Along the Tagliede – Li Zeta run.

  • Finish: 1850 meters, featuring a “city finish.”

With its 1,800 meters of development and 517 meters of vertical drop, the course is technical and fast, with gradients reaching 52%. Only the most complete athletes will succeed. The village finish will give the public a direct view of the adrenaline-fueled final moments of the race, allowing everyone to experience the full intensity of a sporting event destined to be remembered.
